Warm and crispy biscuits, perfect for a Sunday roast!

It has been a while since I’ve posted a recipe, and this one is just too good not to be shared. These biscuits are amazing served alongside a stew or roast, and any leftovers can be warmed (or toasted) and eaten the next day with butter and jam. Everyone in my my family loves these biscuits-including Buster-and they are so quick and easy to whip up.

So, what are you waiting for? Grab your apron, and get baking! šŸ˜€

Ingredients (makes 10)

2 cups all-purpose flour

3/4 teaspoon salt

1 teaspoon baking powder

3/4 teaspoon baking soda

1 teaspoon brown sugar

1 teaspoon granulated sugar

1/2 cup (1 stick) cold butter, cubed

1 cup cold buttermilk

Method

  1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees fahrenheit (220 degrees celsius). Line a baking tray with parchment paper or lightly grease with butter.

  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and both types of sugar. Add the cold, cubed butter and massage it into the mixture until some small pieces of butter remain and the rest is combined with the flour.

  3. Add the cold buttermilk. Using a spoon, gently incorporate the buttermilk into the flour mixture until just combined. Divide the dough into 10 balls and arrange them on the baking sheet.

  4. Bake at 425 degrees celsius for 7-10 minutes. Enjoy warm with butter.
